LAYOUT 002: BUT I STILL THINK ABOUT YOU, THINK ABOUT YOU

live preview/usage @ [personal profile] gimmelove
features: two column, supports all modules, fixed width, custom 'locked'

Step I: Theme

Go to CUSTOMIZE » SELECT JOURNAL STYLE and find PLAIN for TABULA RASA. (here)

Step II: Custom CSS

Go to CUSTOMIZE YOUR THEME, then CUSTOM CSS

Step III: Layout Stylesheet

Uncheck the box next to USE LAYOUT STYLESHEET.

Step IV: Copy & Paste Code

Select all and copy the code in the link below; then back in Dreamwidth, in the textbox next to USE CUSTOM STYLESHEETS, paste the code and save.

Step V: Comment Pages & Addtl Options

This theme is cosmetic and not operated to work with custom comment pages. You need to enable the site skin comment page so it doesn't look ugly; you can do this by going to:
  • Organize » Manage Account » Display
  • "Entry Page Default: Your Journal" - uncheck the box; and hit save.
For maximum appearance and capability, it is also advised that you use text interaction links instead of icon interaction links. To configure this, go to:
  • Organize » Customize Style » Presentation
  • "Select whether user interaction links are printed as text or using the available icons" » switch from icons to text-only
  • "Select whether entry management links are printed as text or using the available icons" » switch from icons to text-only
  • "Select whether comment management links are printed as text or using the available icons" » switch from icons to text-only

Support & Help

Let me know if you find any bugs and I'll be sure to fix them as soon as possible!

I actually coded this layout a few months ago but didn't like it very much, even though I was mostly done. Looking at it now, there's nothing I really dislike about it and it did what I wanted it to do. Essentially it was my remixing my old LiveJournal layout over at [livejournal.com profile] kingdra, with the navigation and the title text. Obviously it's much different both in terms of color and functionality, but the similarities I wanted to keep I think carried over pretty well.

If nothing else, my putting up this layout for use can be for posterity.

I really love this layout for its colour theme and simplicity but I wanted to change a few things like adding in a module. I'm not code savy but I noticed that the Profile Module has been disabled. How would I re-enable it?

Thank you! Sorry you had to change the coding yourself.

I've spent too long today looking for a layout where the reading area isn't flexi-width, the whole layout is centered, and the font and white space are reasonable. It's been fun looking through all the layouts we made and loved when monitors were small and smartphones were less of a thing, but yours is the only one I've found that hits all the highlights. So thank you!

I love this style, it's clean and I really like the color scheme ♥
I'm using now but I changed the resizing of icons coz I'm really shortsighted. I hope you don't mind.
